Books Vs Movie

The first book and First movie of the Hunger games were both amazing, however I think that the movie was a lot better and provided the fans with the missing visual imaginary that was lacking in the book. One of the main differences in the movie is that its not in first person like the novel. This provides the viewer with more knowledge of the plot. another major difference since the book was in first person Katniss would have no idea about the riot that occurred in district 11 but in the riot was included in the movie to further the tension between the capitol and the districts. The book being in first person only gave the main character, Katniss, perspective. This limited the knowledge of the reader involving the world surrounding Katniss. In the movie they had some scenes that didn't involve Katniss at all and these scenes furthered the plot and made the movie better. The movie was better than the book because it made us dislike the capitol even more then we would have from the book. The movie was also not as graphic as the book. They did this because they wanted their movie to be enjoyed by families with younger kids. For example, in the book the reader first meets Haymitch when he shows up at the Reaping drunk and he ends up falling off the stairs. In the movie they take out this part entirely and Haymitch isn't even at the reaping.
