My research paper is looking into the potential success of the fasting growing sport in the world esports. Im going to compare the success of the sport to other sports and their first years of becoming a recognized league. Im going to compare the success of football, baseball, and basketball first ten years established nationally and globally. I will factor in the population because it has grown significantly over the past years. IM conducting this research because it seems that as exports grown the possibility's are endless. I will also examine the possible threats that could slow down or stop esports from reaching their potential. One being the industry being saturated with a lot of competitive titles and pros team that will spread the profits over the industry. I followed a couple of pro teams and players as well as a broadcaster for Call of Duty world champs. The broadcaster knows the most about the sport and contributes directly to the success of the game. One in particular that I followed is Chris Puckett he was actually a former pro and now he broadcast for halo. I followed pro teams because they are the ones generate the following towards the game. These pro teams gain their following from twitter and youtube as well as the new video streaming website, twitch, which was created solely for players and entertainers to broadcast their gameplay live. Entertainers are huge part of the esports industry they would be equivelant to the globe trotters in basketball that weren't nearly the best but could entertain the audience and keep them coming back for more. The question for my research paper is how did esports do during their developing years compared to other sports and this will detremine how much potential this sport truly has in the future.
